Erin Holbrook Johnson
Erin is originally from Massachusetts and moved to Oregon in 2006 after graduating from law school. Between Massachusetts and Oregon, she lived, worked, and studied in several countries, including England, Wales, and Azerbaijan, and in the city of Pristina (in the Republic of Kosovo). She completed a bachelor's degree at Columbia Union College in 2002, with a double major in 'History' and 'Philosophy and Religion.' She went on to complete her law degree at the University of Maryland, School of Law, with a concentration in Environmental Law.
After moving to Oregon, Erin volunteered for St. Andrew Legal Clinic and the Family Law Assistance Program in Washington County. She then worked for the Multnomah County Courts in family law departments for over seven years before transitioning to private practice as an associate for Stephens & Margolin, PC and continuing that role with Margolin Family Law. While practicing with Margolin Family Law, Erin completed training with Elder Law College, adding elder law and estate planning to her family law practice.
Erin is passionate about family dynamics. Her most rewarding work is time spent with clients creating a plan that works for them and their families, whether that be working with a client planning to get married and wanting a premarital agreement, a client whose family is reorganizing as part of a divorce, a client planning for incapacity or long-term care later in life, or a client that is planning how their estate will be handled down the road. Planning for these events can feel like an overwhelming task. Erin works hard to answer questions, resolve concerns, and create outcomes that work for her clients. Erin is also trained in Collaborative Law dispute resolution, for resolving conflicts outside of the courtroom.
Erin can assist you with your premarital, family law, elder law, and estate planning needs, specializing in premarital, postmarital, cohabitation, and marital settlement agreements, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, releases, deeds, and caregiving agreements.
In her spare time, Erin enjoys running, reading, particularly British mysteries, exploring the Portland food scene with friends, a recently renewed interest in cooking, documentaries, and keeping up with grand slam tennis.
